Dear Sai Bandhus,
Guru Poornima - Important Message
After hard deliberation we have decided to err on the side of caution and made a decision to close the temple for congregation on Guru Poornima day and further. Given the worsening Corona Virus situation in Loudoun and anticipated turnout we feel it’s safe not to expose devotees, priests and volunteers to risk. Priests will continue to perform Poojas and will be at the temple from 9 am to 6 pm and devotees can have Baba’s darshan from outside. Aarthis will continue to be live streamed. The temple will remain closed for a few days until further notice due to this.

Shirdi Sai Mandir was established as a non-profit organization in 2006 in a leased premises and initially the temple was being run by volunteers and later on in 2008 a priest was hired to perform the services to Baba. 11 acres of land was acquired in 2012 and the Mandir was moved to the permanent site in June 2013 with an elaborate 3 day sthapana ceremony. Today the temple is open 7 days a week and all 4 Aarathis are performed to Baba.
The existing structures on the land acquired have been renovated to accommodate Babas Dwarakamayi and the vision is to build a permanent mandir with the blessings of Baba and support of the devotees by 2018 on the eve of the 100th year of Baba Mahasamadhi.
